Election of the Best Sommelier of France 2022

The glasses of the Reveal’up, Sublym, Vigne and Primary collections of Chef&Sommelier were honoured during the 32nd edition of the competition of the best sommelier of France 2022, organised every two years by the UDSF – Union de la Sommellerie Française.

The final took place on 6 November at the Porte de Versailles, Paris, during the EquipHotel trade fair.

The three finalists were :
Mikael GROU, Head Sommelier at the restaurant “le Chat Botté*” of the Beau Rivage Palace in Geneva, Switzerland.
Xavier THUIZAT, Head Sommelier of the restaurant “l’Écrin*” of the Hotel Crillon, Paris, France.
Pierre VILA PALLEJA, Director and Head Sommelier of his establishment “Le Petit Sommelier” in Paris, France.

After many demanding tests, the winner of this 32nd edition was none other than Xavier THUIZAT, who was participating in this competition for the first time.
